The NHL Detroit Red Wings’ Tyler Bertuzzi is only one of four NHL Hockey players who have refused to comply with a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. As such, he cannot travel with his team for games in Canada, where he is not allowed to play unvaccinated.
But unlike the NBA’s Kyrie Irving, who was willing to play in the NBA unvaccinated but his team and the league prevented him from doing so, the Detroit Red Wings and the NHL are allowing Bertuzzi to play in cities that allow it.
At least for now.
We speculated that the reason the NBA did not allow Kyrie Irving to play in cities where COVID-19 vaccine mandates did not prohibit him from playing, was that they did not want the PR nightmare of an “anti-vaxxer” representing freedom of choice and opposing medical tyranny.
Apparently, at least for now, the NHL does not fear that.
So on his first night on the ice, Tyler Bertuzzi showcased what talent can do unencumbered by micro blood clots that go along with COVID-19 shots, as he was clearly the best player on the ice that night, scoring a rare 4 goals in one game for his team, and drawing high praises from his coach.
The Wings’ coaching staff rates every player on a 1-to-5 scale for every game. Coach Jeff Blashill said Friday rarely has a player received a five rating.
Bertuzzi achieved that mark.
“He got fives across the board from the coaching staff,” Blashill said. “He was great in all areas of the ice. Obviously offensively, but defensively he tilted the ice a little bit, and he was good on the power play. He had an outstanding game and there certainly was a good vibe in the room.”
Bertuzzi is one of the most popular players in the locker room.
“As I told you guys when the news came out Bert wasn’t going to be vaccinated, our guys love Bert, he’s a guy you want to be around,” Blashill said. “He’s a winner, a great competitor. Everyone knows he had to ground through most of last year rehabbing into the summer, and he had a late start to the exhibition season.
“For a start like that, it’s awesome. He played excellent.” (Source.)
The Detroit News pointed out last week that even though there were only 4 players in the NHL not vaccinated for COVID-19, there were still many vaccinated players testing positive for COVID-19 and unable to play.
There are still COVID-19 cases involving players that are fully vaccinated.
Seattle Kraken players Jared McCann, Jamie Oleksiak, Joonas Donskoi and former Red Wings draft pick Calle Jarnkrok, and Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon went into NHL COVID-19 protocol on Tuesday. (Source.)
I wonder how long it will take for the public to wake up to the fact that unvaccinated people are actually healthier than vaccinated people?
And if Tyler Bertuzzi continues to prove this fact, will he and the other 3 unvaccinated players be allowed to continue playing, or will they be lumped into the “sports enhancement” steroid-type drugs ban that is in professional sports claiming that they have an unfair competitive advantage because they chose to remain unvaccinated?
Such is the insanity of the world we live in today, where healthy people are ostracized for refusing medical products, while sick people are praised if they fall in line with the pharmaceutical cartel and their stranglehold over the world right now.
